Baby Shower Punch Can be
a Sweet Treat for the Party
With a simple recipe and a little imagination,
everyone can enjoy the baby shower punch.
And while mom-to-be won't be drinking anything with alcohol in it, it's easy enough to create a fruity punch that will seem like she's a part of the drinking crowd.
One of the issues that many moms face at a shower is feeling like they're different from everyone else. For example, some baby shower games ask for the guests to come with 'bumps' just like the soon to be mom in order for her to feel less self-conscious. And with the baby shower punch, you can also make her feel at home.
A great baby shower punch recipe can be found in "The Baby Shower Kit" by Michael Rasmussen and Jillian Blume. It includes ingredients like orange juice and lemonade, pineapple juice and ginger ale. This is a perfect combination for the pregnant mom, though you can add a little rum to the mix for the rest of the guests.
An alternative to the baby shower punch is to create your own mix of fruit juices or other favorite juices of mom. You could have separate bottle of juice at the baby shower, allowing each of the guests to make their own punch mixture.
But having separate bowls of baby shower punch is the easiest way to allow the mom and the designated drivers a non-alcoholic alternative. Just be sure not to mix them up and confuse them. It's best to put the non-alcoholic punch nearest to the mom.
You will also want to have a way to differentiate between everyone's cups or glasses when you're serving two kinds of baby shower punch. For cups, you can have a permanent marker in place for people to label their drinks. For glasses, it may help to have different colored straws or other baby shower favors to decorate the glass.
Baby shower punch can also include small ice cubes in the shapes of rattles or teddy bears for an extra special touch. Just take fruit juice (if that's an ingredient in the punch) and pour it into molds of the shapes. Once frozen, place the new ice cubes into the punch.
